On the recommendations of the panel of judges, Best Cameraman has been divided in two categories namely; Best Scripted Camerawork and Best Unscripted Camerawork. Because of the substantial number of entries in each category and the level of work submitted, judges also recommended that some categories should nominate more submissions. The organisers, whilst taking into consideration these recommendations, set the highest number of nominees in each category to be six.

Nominations were announce on Friday, 12 February 2010 at Heat in Valletta Waterfront amidst a great crowd of TV personalities. Although the different production houses, presenters and actors came from different television stations, a friendly atmosphere reigned throughout the evening which developed into a pre-Awards party.
