Mermaid Media Entertainment Ltd today announced the launch of the 4th edition of The Malta Television Awards, to be held on Saturday, February 27th, 2010 at MFCC Ta' Qali.

Silvio Scerri, a director of Mermaid Media, proudly announced that Vodafone and Mermaid Media have signed a two-year contract that secures the title sponsorship of the Awards.  For the next two years, therefore, the Awards will officially be titled and referred to as The Vodafone Malta Television Awards.  This partnership brings together two prestigious brands; a definite guarantee of a magnificent and memorable event as befits Malta’s television industry. Deborah Grech attended the press conference as a representative of Vodafone.

The coveted silver mermaid representing the prestigious award will for the third consecutive year be sponsored by Vascas Jewellers. Mark Vassallo, director of Vascas Jewellers, stated that his company believed in the television medium, and that consequently it was a logical and natural decision by the board of directors to extend the sponsorship.

The calendar of events was announced by Noelene Miggiani, who will also be overseeing the smooth running of the mechanism from the submissions and judging unto the nominations and Awards Night.  For the  4th year running, Charles Foca will be focusing on the comprehensive logistics such a prominent event entails. Mr Foca is not willing to divulge information at this stage, but he promised that it would be a memorable night.

The newly designed Awards Website received great compliments on its format and user-friendly navigation, designed and developed by Immedia Creative Studio.
